Our Beginning

This program got started 12 years ago. I met a local teacher who had paid a 'family friend' $2,000 to repair her car. The 'friend' took her money and towed her car back into her driveway but it still would not work. I agreed to look at her car. When I opened the hood of her car, there was NO ENGINE in the engine bay. Neither was there a transmission! I later found both laying loose in the trunk. We helped that lady get back on the road and God began to make it clear to me that people in general, single ladies and single moms specifically, need a mechanic they can trust. Most everyone understands it costs money to maintain a vehicle properly but no one wants to be taken advantage of because they don't know any better. We always tell folks, "If you have a mechanic you trust, stay there! But if you don't, we would appreciate the opportunity to earn your trust and your business!"  Not too long after helping that single mother with a disabled car, we took this ministry from a part-time, out of my garage on weekends deal to a full-time, licensed, and insured business.

Your Donations Make A Difference

When you donate here, you are helping those in need directly. Every week, we are providing car repairs to someone who can't afford all or some of the repairs. Often we are helping people get a car that needs one. Sometimes those are completely donated cars we have rehabbed and made safe and other times we can help someone with a car who can afford a small down payment and a small monthly payment.  We NEVER charge interest and our cars are always well below retail value.

When you partner with us through our Rebuilding Cars-Changing Lives Program, you make a difference.

We provide most any car repair service your car might need and we are typically 25%-40% less expensive than a dealer or a chain repair shop.

Our parts and our work are always warrantied. We stand behind whatever we do. Even if we donate the repair to someone in need under our RC-CL program, the repair is still covered by our warranty.

Last year, we gave away about $1000 per week in services and repairs for people in need. We are a small shop and even though we would like to be able to help more people, we enjoy helping those we can.

Social Service caseworkers refer us to their clients in need of automotive help. Mercy Mall refers some of their clients in need of automotive help to us. Churches, social media, and word of mouth also provide a steady stream of people contacting us needing help with a car.

We accept cash donations and we also accept donations of cars or motorcycles. We repair them, make them safe and reliable so we can help someone in need, or sell the car and use the funds to help others who come our way.

We almost always provide free vehicle diagnosis for any person meeting the RC-CL guidelines of being in need. We look over the car completely to try to provide the best advice we can and make sure resources are being used wisely.

How will you use my donation?

The money that you give goes directly to help people in need. Sometimes it is to help with repairs people can't afford. Other times it is to help get a car ready for someone. Sometimes it might be to get a car towed here so we can take a look at it. If you would like to find out how your donation has helped someone, contact us!
